“Sarah Ford supplied the voice over for our promotional video on music workshops for team building. Sarah’s approach was professional throughout the experience from initial contact to final product. Sarah ensured she understood our needs for the video and what would appeal to our target market and this was reflected in how she approached the delivery of the script and her suggestions for intonation and ideas for the text. The experience was very much a collaborative one and I would have no hesitation recommending Sarah for voice over work.” – Maria Thomas, Founder & Artistic Director – The Music Workshop Company

Sarah is an experienced actress of theatre, film, tv and voice. Spotlight number www.spotlight.com/341567516971

I was born in London and soon after moved to Uganda as my father had joined the I.L.O. (International Labour Organisation). By the time I was 18 I had lived in a further 5 countries. One thing I discovered was that theatre has a global language and spoke to me from an early age. After school I went on my own adventure to California to study Acting and Directing at California State University, East Bay.

The journey to becoming a voice actress had me return to London on graduation where I juggled numerous jobs with auditioning. Amongst my first jobs were singing in variety concerts, fringe theatre with Greenwich Studio Theatre performing European classical plays, and promenade theatre at Lancaster Repertory, playing The Nurse in “Romeo & Juliet” and singing through “The Hobbit”. For me, acting (whether in view or out of view) is about bringing the story to life with comedy, drama or singing.

My life has been full of fabulous work and life experiences from seeing giraffes up close in the wild, to riding a rollercoaster over 30 times for a commercial, to popping out of a cartoon cake to present Charles M Schulz with birthday cake.

For me voices can make or break performances. At school the thrill of the choir going to the BBC to record was what hooked me into audio work. I’ve voiced commercials for local radio, and narrated short documentaries and books.

Clients such as Music Workshop Company and Digital Drama have described me as “collaborative”, “a pleasure to work with”, and that “I understood their needs”. I diligently seek the truth behind the work to deliver an honest performance.

My friends describe me as good humoured, inquisitive, thoughtful, generous, and forthright. All descriptions I am proud of. What most of them don’t know is that I can’t whistle.
